Transportation Construction Expertise
Our nation’s transportation infrastructure is vitally important and i+iconUSA companies are experts within the industry. Our expertise is led by long-standing working relationships with numerous State Departments of Transportation and Transportation Authorities for the development of roadways and bridges.
Our companies have constructed hundreds of lane miles of roadways and have performed construction work on hundreds of bridges. i+iconUSA performs work ranging from rehabilitation of our nation’s transportation infrastructure to the demolition and creation of new roads and bridges. In addition, while this type of work can involve road closures, our personnel often find ways to maintain traffic without interruption to service.
i+iconUSA has significant experience in supporting private clients in the transportation sector, such as railroads. In addition to demolition and new construction activities for these clients, we have established good relationships with railroads when managing adjacent projects and not disrupting their operations for nearby project work.
With nearly 100 years of combined experience between our companies, i+iconUSA is among the area’s leaders in transportation construction.
I-70 New Stanton Interchange Reconstruction
Fay is constructing a new diamond interchange on I-70, which is one of the first projects in the area to incorporate roundabouts at an interchange. Work includes widening and reconstructing 1.8 miles of roadway to provide a third lane in each direction, replacement of the Center Avenue Bridge, a new bridge on I-70, and rehabilitation of an existing structure. Major project schedule reductions were accomplished through traffic phasing, accelerated concrete, no-cost wall redesigns, and no-cost bridge superstructure design changes.

i+iconSOUTHEAST’S scope includes clearing and grubbing, construction of ponds including the related outfall structures, storm drainage systems, de-mucking, construction of three separate surcharge embankments along with associated drainage blankets, geo-grid, drainage wicks, and settlement monitoring devices. The project also includes construction of new utility systems including: potable water, reclaimed water, gas, communication, and primary electrical power.
Freedom Way Bridge Replacement
The project is for the replacement of a single span bridge consisting of five concrete bulb-tee girders 135’ in length. Challenges include the close proximity to a major airport and the bridge spanning over Deep Creek, a protected wetland. To preserve the wetland area, i+iconSOUTHEAST is utilizing a trestle system to complete all work with minimal damage to the surrounding area.
